Inset Fixture Lamp with Integrated Dichroic Reflector

The 48W 6.6A dichroic reflector lamp is designed for inset (in-pavement) airfield lighting fixtures. The integrated reflector produces a focused beam with high and constant lumen output, while the dichroic coating transmits heat backward through the reflector — reducing thermal stress on the fixture lens and colour filters.

This is the most widely used wattage for inset runway edge, taxiway, stopbar, and touch-down zone light fixtures. Multiple variants are available with different connector types and lamp life ratings. The correct variant is determined by the connector in your fixture.

We recommend the long-life (LL) variants where your fixture accepts them — they deliver 2,500 hours rated life compared to 1,000–1,500 hours for standard versions, with the same minimum 20 kcd axial light intensity.

  • These variants offer the longest service life at 2,500 hours with minimum 20.0 kcd axial light intensity.

    • 6101LL — Flat female connector (DIN 46247)
    • 6106LL — Flat male connector (DIN 46248)
    • 6107LL — Round female connector (4 mm diameter)

    All three are electrically and optically identical — the only difference is connector type. Check the mating connector in your fixture to select the correct variant.

These variants offer 1,000–1,500 hours rated life with minimum 23.0 kcd axial light intensity.

  • 58356 — Flat female connector (DIN 46247), 1,500 hrs
  • 58340 — Flat male connector (DIN 46248), 1,500 hrs
  • 6143 — Rectangular female connector, 1,000 hrs
  • 6138 — Flat male / flat female combination (60 mm sleeve), 500 hrs

The standard variants produce slightly higher axial intensity (23.0 kcd vs 20.0 kcd) but at the cost of shorter lamp life. The 6143 uses a rectangular female connector found in some older European-origin fixtures.

Dichroic reflector lamps use three main connector types. Remove the existing lamp from the fixture and check the cable end:

Flat female (DIN 46247): Receptacle terminals that receive flat blade pins. The most common connector type. → 6101LL (long-life) or 58356 (standard)

Flat male (DIN 46248): Exposed flat blade terminals. → 6106LL (long-life) or 58340 (standard)

Round female (4 mm): Cylindrical receptacle terminals, 4 mm diameter. → 6107LL (long-life)

Rectangular female: Wider receptacle with additional insulation. Found in some older fixtures. → 6143 (standard only)
